About the Arranger: Deborah Baker Monday

Deborah Baker Monday spent 25 years leading the acclaimed Logan City orchestra program before transitioning to guest conducting, clinical work, and teacher supervision. She holds a B.M.E. from Florida State University in string education, an M.M. in composition from the University of Alabama, and completed doctoral coursework at Louisiana State University under James Yestadt. During her studies she performed as a bassist with the Meridian and Tupelo Symphony Orchestras.

Monday has composed and arranged over 130 works for educational strings across seven publishing companies. Her contributions to string pedagogy earned her the Utah ASTA Outstanding Elementary Educator Award and the Utah MEA Superior Accomplishment Award. She won the Utah ASTA Composition Competition in 2006 and 2011, and has presented at state conferences nationwide, The Midwest Clinic, and the Ohio State String Teachers Workshop. She continues to serve as clinician, conductor, and adjudicator.
