About the Composer: Darren W. Jenkins
Darren W. Jenkins holds a Master of Music in Composition from the University of Kansas, where he studied under the mentorship of composer James Barnes, and earned his Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Washburn University. He has built a career bridging composition and instrumental direction across multiple Kansas school districts, serving as Director of Music at Hayden High School in Topeka and as an elementary band director for Lawrence Public Schools while assisting with the high school program there.
Currently Assistant Director of Bands at Olathe South High School, Jenkins continues to compose for concert band while maintaining an active schedule as a clinician. His works have been performed and recorded by ensembles across the United States and abroad, earning recognition as an award-winning composer whose voice resonates with both student and professional musicians.
