The "bartizan" is a turret of a castle, built along the defensive wall, containing the castle guard. The stonework could be quite ornate while the function was to protect the guard from invaders. Sarah Siegler brings together twenty years of ensemble directing experience with a deep commitment to accessible music education. Her background spans string orchestras in Connecticut and Wisconsin, and she has performed across multiple instruments—trumpet in marching and pep bands, violin in orchestras, and voice in choral settings. These diverse musical perspectives inform her compositional voice.
As the owner of Grand Mesa Strings and an active educational music publisher, Siegler channels her conducting background and performance experience into creating works that build student skills while remaining genuinely rewarding to perform. She earned a Master of Music Education from VanderCook College of Music Chicago and a Bachelor of Music Education from St. Olaf College.
