About the Composer: Steve Hodges

Steve Hodges earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Western Oregon University, later completing a Master of Music Education at Central Washington University. Over four decades, he directed bands, choirs, and ensembles across public school levels, building deep insight into what young musicians need from their repertoire.

Since 1986, Hodges has composed more than 120 concert band works published by Alfred Music, along with choral arrangements for Staff Music and Shawnee Press. His pieces appear regularly at state festivals and music conventions worldwide, and his compositions have been commissioned by honor bands and schools in Virginia, Iowa, Winnipeg, British Columbia, Oregon, Washington, and North Carolina. His work has also reached audiences through TBS and ESPN programming. A member of ASCAP, Hodges resides in The Dalles, Oregon, where he remains active in community music alongside his family.
