About the Composer: JaRod Hall

JaRod Hall studied music education at the University of North Texas and earned a master's degree from Texas State University, where he worked with conducting faculty including Dr. Nicholas Williams and Dr. Caroline Beatty. His eight years as a band director in Texas produced consistently successful ensembles, including a middle school non-varsity band that became the first in Frisco ISD to earn the state Citation of Excellence.

As a performer, Hall has played principal tuba with the Texas State Wind Symphony and appeared with ensembles ranging from the North Texas Wind Symphony to the 2014 Disneyland All-American College Band. He was a four-time Texas All-State Band member and earned the distinction of principal chair in the state jazz band. His compositions have been recognized on the Texas Prescribed Music List, the J.W. Pepper "Editor's Choice" list, and Bandworld's Top 100, with his grade 2 work "Through the Storm" winning the 2021 Barbara Buehlman Prize for middle school band.
