About the Composer: Andy Beck

Andy Beck directs choral publications at Alfred Music and has composed and arranged more than 450 choral works now in active performance worldwide. His versatility spans secular repertoire, children's musicals, and pedagogical resources including the widely adopted sight-singing curricula Sing at First Sight and Foundations in Choral Sight Singing. Beyond the page, Beck maintains an active career as guest conductor, adjudicator, and clinician; he has served as commissioned composer and conductor for honor choirs across the Southeast, and his performance background as a tenor and musical theatre director informs every piece he writes.

Training in music education at both Ithaca College and Northwest Missouri State University shaped Beck's commitment to choral artistry alongside music literacy. He performs with the North Carolina Master Chorale Chamber Choir and has been a studio singer for Alfred Music since 1992, bringing firsthand knowledge of what singers need and what audiences remember.
