About the Composer: Vince Gassi

Vince Gassi holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Western Ontario and has studied composition and arranging at the Dick Grove School of Music in Los Angeles. He completed his Ph.D. in music at York University in Toronto. Over twenty-five years of teaching instrumental music at elementary and secondary levels shaped his understanding of what young musicians need to grow.

A prolific composer with more than 100 published works, Gassi is recognized internationally as a conductor, clinician, and guest adjudicator. His compositions appear regularly on festival and contest programs across North America, Europe, and Japan, and his work is a fixture at the Midwest Clinic. Beyond composing, he leads workshops on creative engagement and digital workflows for music directors, helping educators integrate innovation into their programs.
