About the Composer: Gene Grier
Gene Grier brought prolific creativity to American choral and educational music across multiple genres. Over the course of his career, he published more than 1,000 compositions through major publishers, ranging from children's musicals and cantatas to piano collections and textbooks. His work earned him 29 ASCAP Popular Song Writing Awards, and eleven of his children's recordings received Grammy nominations. He founded two respected choral publishers, EverGreen Morning Press and Birdsongs Unlimited, and held leadership positions at J.W. Pepper and The Lorenz Corporation before his time as an Executive Editor.
Beyond his publishing legacy, Grier remained deeply engaged in musical life. He performed regularly as a vocalist in church choirs and sang as a soloist with The Norman Luboff Choir, blending his roles as composer, educator, and performer throughout his career.
