About the Composer: Joel Spineti
Joel Spineti brings seventeen years of classroom experience across elementary, middle, and high school levels to his work as a composer and educator. He currently directs the jazz and concert bands at Haddam-Killingworth Middle School in Connecticut, where he applies both his formal training from Central Connecticut State University and his extensive background in musical theater performance across the United States.
Spineti's compositional voice spans concert band, jazz ensemble, choir, and musical theater. His jazz studies with pianist Hal Galper in New York, combined with his years of music directing productions throughout forty states, inform his ability to craft engaging, accessible works for young musicians. He lives in southern Connecticut with his wife Marti, two children, and a characteristically stubborn Scottish terrier named Baxter.
