Joseph M. Martin

Joseph M. Martin holds degrees in piano performance from Furman University and the University of Texas at Austin, where he also taught in the Piano Pedagogy Department for five years. His performance career has taken him across the United States and Mexico, including a victory in the Nina Plant Wideman Competition that led to a featured appearance with the Guadalajara Symphony Orchestra, and a nationally broadcast recital at Ex-convento del Carmen.

Though his compositions and arrangements have graced prestigious venues from Carnegie Hall to regional performance spaces, Martin has increasingly directed his considerable gifts toward church music. He now divides his time between concert performances and composing works for worship services and church musician conferences. He lives in Austin, Texas with his wife Sue and their children Jonathan and Aubrey.
