Anne Shannon Demarest

Anne Shannon Demarest has composed over 200 piano works that span from elementary through advanced levels, establishing herself as a prolific voice in American piano pedagogy. Her extensive international performance history includes recitals at the Ingesund School of Music in Sweden and concert appearances across Canada, Australia, Denmark, and numerous other countries. Recognition of her contributions includes listing in Who's Who of American Women, the International Who's Who in Music, and Who's Who in the West, as well as the Special Individual Merit Award from the National Federation of Music Clubs (1971-1977).

Demarest's compositional inspiration draws deeply from her world travels with her husband Steve, an experience reflected in works like the Banff Panorama Suite and countless pieces informed by her journeys throughout Asia, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Iceland, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
