About the Composer: Scott Watson
Scott Watson brings three decades of classroom experience to his work as a composer and educator. After serving as Director of Bands at the high school level and later coordinating elementary band and strings across the Parkland School District in Allentown, PA, he joined Cairn University as Associate Professor of Music, where he continues to shape the next generation of music teachers.
Watson's catalog of over 120 published works for concert band, string orchestra, and chamber ensembles reflects his dual fluency in contemporary concert art music and the practical realities of the band room. His compositions have been performed internationally and at venues including the Academy of Music in Philadelphia, the Midwest Clinic in Chicago, and the White House. He serves as exclusive composer and clinician for Alfred Publications and has authored the music education text Using Technology to Unlock Musical Creativity (Oxford University Press, 2011).
