Martha Mier has shaped piano pedagogy as a composer, clinician, and studio teacher whose work appears in hundreds of educational publications. A Florida State University graduate and certified piano teacher through the Music Teachers National Association, National Guild of Piano Teachers, and Florida State Music Teachers Association, Mier maintains an active schedule adjudicating festivals and leading workshops across the United States, Australia, and New Zealand. Her contributions span major conferences including the World Piano Pedagogy Conference and the Music Teachers National Association Conference.

Since joining Alfred Music Publishing in 1989, Mier has become one of today's most performed composers in piano education.
