Patti Drennan

Patti Drennan's credentials in choral music span both the classroom and the concert hall. She earned degrees in music education from Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma, then spent 28 years teaching choral music in Norman Public Schools. Her tenure included 20 years at West Mid-High School, where she earned Teacher of the Year recognition, and eight years at Norman High School directing four choirs that consistently achieved superior ratings. In 2004, the Oklahoma Choral Directors Association honored her with the Director of Distinction Award.

As a composer and arranger, Drennan has established herself as a prolific voice in choral music, with over 425 published octavos and cumulative sales exceeding two million copies. She has led clinics and workshops across 19 states, Canada, and regional conventions; adjudicated choral competitions; and directed composer weekends for churches nationwide. Beyond her writing, she served nearly a decade as music and worship arts director at First Baptist Church in Norman. Her work continues to be performed in concert settings, including a Carnegie Hall performance of "Sing for the Cure." Drennan now dedicates her time to composing, arranging, leading music reading sessions for publishers, and collaborating musically with her daughter, a musical theater performer in New York.
