About the Composer: Kirk Vogel

Kirk Vogel holds degrees in music education from Capital University (1980) and the University of Northern Colorado (1987). Throughout his career in Colorado schools, he directed band, orchestra, choir, and jazz ensembles at multiple institutions, most notably at Heath Middle School in Greeley, where his ensembles earned invitations to perform at state and regional conventions.

As a composer, Vogel has built a substantial catalog published by Alfred Music, Kjos Music Company, and other major houses. His works have won the Colorado Music Educators Association Composers Competition multiple times and received performances by the Pittsburgh Symphony, community bands, and ensembles at every educational level. He remains active as a guest conductor, adjudicator, and clinician and holds membership in ASCAP. In recognition of his contributions to music education, he was inducted into the Colorado Music Educators Hall of Fame.
