About the Composer: Timothy Loest
Timothy Loest has built a career bridging the gap between artistic ambition and pedagogical clarity. His compositions for young band are performed regularly across the country, and his influence extends through several widely adopted method series, including Measures of Success® and Warm-ups and Beyond. In 2017, his work Cloud Gate (Reflections of a City) reached an audience of over 5,000 at Chicago's Millennium Park, and that same year he received the Illinois Grade School Music Association's Cloyd Myers Memorial Award for Excellence in Music Education.
With roots in public school teaching and a publishing history spanning nearly three decades, Loest understands what works in the rehearsal room. His compositions have appeared on network television including The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Good Morning America. He holds degrees from Illinois State University and Northwestern University, maintains ASCAP membership, and founded Fanfare Music Press in 2022 to continue advancing band repertoire at all levels.
