About the Composer: Brian Beck
Brian Beck is a composer and arranger whose works span instrumental and vocal ensembles across competitive and educational contexts. His pieces have earned recognition as "Reviewer's Choice" from The Instrumentalist and "Best New Concert Band Music" from Tom Lee Music, and they appear on prescribed music lists throughout Texas, Ohio, Florida, and the Midwest. His compositions have been performed at TMEA Honor Band concerts, Western International Band clinics, and UIL state competitions, with several works featured in the GIA Publications series Teaching Music Through Performance In Band.
Beck holds degrees in Music Education from Texas A&M University-Commerce and the University of Houston. He has served as director of bands at both Faubion Middle School in McKinney and Byrd Middle School in Duncanville, Texas, where he was nominated for Teacher of the Year. Ensembles under his direction have consistently earned Superior ratings at UIL contests and have been selected for state and regional honor bands, including performances at the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago.
