About the Arranger: Dave Rivello

Dave Rivello directs the New Jazz Ensemble at the Eastman School of Music, an ensemble recognized for its excellence in performance and commissioning. His compositional voice has been shaped by study with prominent jazz educators including Bob Brookmeyer, Rayburn Wright, Bill Dobbins, and Sam D'Angelo, and he holds degrees from both the Eastman School of Music and the Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University.

Rivello's works have been commissioned and performed by world-class artists spanning jazz, classical, and world music traditions: Bobby McFerrin, David Taylor, Phil Woods, Gene Bertoncini, Randy Brecker, and others. His music appears regularly in concert halls and festivals across the United States, Germany, and Spain, and he has written for institutional ensembles including The Smithsonian Institute, the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra, and the U.S. Air Force Band.
