About the Arranger: Robert D. McCashin
Robert D. McCashin holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in conducting from the University of Arizona and spent 43 years as a college conducting instructor and applied strings teacher before retiring as Professor Emeritus from James Madison University. He directed the JMU Symphony, Chamber Orchestra, and Opera Orchestras from 1992 through 2016 while teaching orchestral conducting and studio violin at the graduate level.
A violinist and prolific arranger, McCashin has published nearly 80 educational works across grades 1 through 5, many of which have become standard selections in the educational music repertoire. He earned recognition as JMU's Distinguished Teacher in 2015 and previously taught at the University of Texas at Arlington and Texas Wesleyan University, where he also conducted community orchestras and maintained an active private studio.
