About the Arranger: Mark Williams
Mark Williams shaped school band repertoire across five decades, publishing over 200 works for young ensembles. His influence extended far beyond the page; as a clinician and guest conductor, he worked directly with programs across 34 states, five Canadian provinces, and Australia, while serving as woodwind performer and arranger for the 560th Air Force Band.
Based in Washington state for much of his career, Williams specialized in elementary band and co-authored the Accent on Achievement Band Method, a resource still widely used in schools today. His compositions earned recognition including the Western International Band Clinic's Gralia Competition and multiple ASCAP Special Awards. Beyond his writing and conducting work, he performed regularly on bassoon and led the Spokane British Brass Band as conductor and artistic director.
