About the Arranger: Roland Barrett

Roland Barrett holds the position of music theory and composition faculty member at the University of Oklahoma, where he has taught since 2001. His academic focus spans 20th century music theory and composition at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Beyond the classroom, Barrett serves as arranger for the Pride of Oklahoma marching band and maintains an active portfolio as a published composer and arranger with more than two hundred works for symphonic band, chamber ensembles, and marching band.

Barrett's compositions and arrangements have earned recognition across the profession. His works have been performed by the Dallas Wind Symphony, All-State and All-Region Honor Bands, and featured on National Public Radio and at the Midwest Band & Orchestra Convention, the National Trumpet Competition, and the International Trumpet Guild convention. He is a multiple recipient of the ASCAPlus award and a former recipient of the Michael Hennagin memorial scholarship in composition.
