About the Arranger: Roland Barrett

Roland Barrett has spent decades shaping young musicians and advancing the wind band repertoire. After fifteen years as Assistant Director of Bands, he joined the University of Oklahoma's music theory and composition faculty in 2001, where he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in theory and composition with a focus on twentieth-century topics. He continues to arrange music for the Pride of Oklahoma marching band.

Barrett's output as a composer and arranger is substantial and widely respected. Over two hundred published works for symphonic band, chamber ensembles, and marching band bear his name. His compositions have appeared on National Public Radio and major cable networks, been performed by the Dallas Wind Symphony and countless All-State and All-Region honor bands, and been featured at the Midwest Band & Orchestra Convention and the International Trumpet Guild convention. He is a multiple recipient of the ASCAP Plus award.
