About the Arranger: Mark Williams
Mark Williams built a career defining the sound of American school bands through over 200 compositions and arrangements. His work as co-author of the Accent on Achievement Band Method shaped instrumental pedagogy for generations, while his guest conducting and clinician roles took him across 34 states, five Canadian provinces, and Australia. He earned recognition through the Western International Band Clinic's Gralia Competition and multiple ASCAP Special Awards.
Rooted in Chicago and shaped by his years in Washington state, Williams specialized in elementary band instruction and brought that expertise into every score. His service as woodwind performer and arranger for the 560th Air Force Band, combined with his conducting leadership of the Spokane British Brass Band, gave him a distinctive understanding of how bands actually sound. Williams held degrees from Eastern Washington University and remained an active bassoonist throughout his career.
