A Titanic Tribute

A Titanic Tribute utilizes thematic material from the hymn tune "Nearer My God to Thee." The opening section of the piece depicts the massive majesty of the great ship (an optional introduction may be sung by female members of the band). The second section reflects the joy of the good life as the journey progresses, but the reverie of the waltz is interrupted by sounds depicting the collision and the panic that follows. The main theme returns as the great vessel slowly but majestically loses its battle with the sea. Interesting to listen to and beautiful to play, A Titanic Tribute is a unique and wonderful addition to young band literature.
