Joseph M. Martin

Joseph M. Martin earned his bachelor's degree in piano performance from Furman University and his master's degree from the University of Texas at Austin, where he later taught in the Piano Pedagogy Department for five years. A seasoned performer, he has given solo recitals and appeared as featured artist with orchestras across the United States and Mexico, winning the Nina Plant Wideman Competition and performing with the Guadalajara Symphony Orchestra.

Martin's compositions and arrangements have reached audiences in venues ranging from Carnegie Hall to regional theaters to churches throughout North America. Though he continues his concert career, he has increasingly focused his energy on church music and conference work, bringing his distinctive compositional voice to worship settings and musician gatherings. He makes his home in Austin, Texas.
