Her musical training began at five years old on piano, followed by violin at seven, and her career as a performing artist took her through professional ensembles across multiple continents.

Newbold's compositions have reached stages including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, and the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic. Beyond concert music, she has worked as a conductor and clinician throughout the United States and internationally in countries including The Netherlands, Belgium, Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, and China. Her filmmaking and composing work in Hollywood has also brought her music to recording projects and screen.
