Joseph M. Martin holds degrees in piano performance from Furman University and the University of Texas at Austin, where he also taught in the Piano Pedagogy Department for five years. His performance career has taken him across the United States and Mexico, including appearances with symphony orchestras and a nationally broadcast recital from Ex-convento del Carman in Guadalajara following his win of the Nina Plant Wideman Competition.

Though his compositions and arrangements have graced stages from Carnegie Hall to regional theaters, Martin has increasingly focused his artistic energy on church music and worship settings. Based in Austin, Texas, he remains active as both performer and composer, drawing on a deep well of musical versatility that consistently surprises audiences with its range and depth.
