Andy Beck leads Alfred Music's choral publications department and has authored over 450 choral works, vocal resources, and children's musicals now in widespread use. His pedagogical resources, including Sing at First Sight, Foundations in Choral Sight Singing, and Vocalize! 45 Vocal Warm-Ups That Teach Technique, have shaped how music educators approach vocal literacy and technique across the country.
Beyond his publishing work, Beck maintains an active conducting and performing career. He guest conducts honor choirs nationwide, adjudicates at festivals, and clinics for music programs at all levels. A trained tenor with degrees in music education from Ithaca College and Northwest Missouri State University, he performs regularly with the North Carolina Master Chorale Chamber Choir and has been a session singer for Alfred Music since 1992. His dual commitment to composition and music education runs through every project he touches.
