About the Composer: Brad Ciechomski

Brad Ciechomski directs the band program at Harrison Middle School in Yarmouth, Maine, where he earned Teacher of the Year honors in 2005-2006 and was named one of 51 American Stars of Teaching in 2008. He holds degrees in composition from the University of New Hampshire, where he studied with Andrew Boysen Jr., and has received commissions from bands at every level, from elementary through college. His work has been featured at the MENC national convention.

Beyond the podium, Ciechomski works throughout New England as a clinician, adjudicator, and guest conductor at district and state festivals. He is an accomplished freelance drummer who has performed with jazz luminaries including Clark Terry, Mel Tormé, Bob Mintzer, and The New York Voices, and has shared the stage with rock legend David Crosby. He conducts four concert bands and three jazz ensembles at his Maine school.
