Lisa T. Clayton

Lisa Clayton received her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Paine College in Augusta, Georgia. She then received her Masters degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Connecticut. Currently, She has been teaching at the University of Connecticut for over 30 years and teaches chorus in the Bloomfield, CT school system. She was named Teacher of the Year in the Hartford Public School system and for the UConn Freshman Honor Society. She was presented the Outstanding Alumni Award by the University of Connecticut’s Fine Arts Department and recently her musical life story was preserved into perpetuity by Yale University. Lisa Clayton is a sought after clinician and composer. She has received many awards for her Outstanding work with choirs and compositions. A gifted orator and singer, she has traveled the world sharing both of those gifts. She was also the first Connectional Coordinator of Music and Arts for the one million member Christian Methodist Episcopal Church (CME) and currently serves as Director of Music for the Seventh Episcopal District of the CME Church and psalmist for the CME Pastor’s Conference.
