Pamela McDermott
Pamela McDermott currently serves as Associate Professor and Director of Choral Activities at Longwood University where she directs ensembles and teaches Conducting, Choral Methods, Show Choir Techniques, and Aural Skills. She is active as a singer, conductor, clinician, and adjudicator, and especially enjoys collaborative projects. She continues to seek out best practices for teaching music, singing, and expressive artistry in her research.
Dr. McDermott earned her DMA in Choral Conducting with a cognate in Choral Pedagogy at UNC-Greensboro. Her singers have performed with the Richmond Symphony, Lynchburg Symphony, the Defiant Requiem Foundation, and most recently under her baton at Carnegie Hall.
