About This Collection

Description

This small collection centers on jazz-inflected choral arrangements suited to secular programs. The standout title here is I Can't Give You Anything but Love: SATB Choral Octavo, arranged by both Jay Althouse and Dave Riley, a perennial favorite among teachers working with mixed voice choirs. You'll find options in both SATB and SSA/SSAA voicings, with recorded accompaniments and instrumental parts included, making these pieces practical for rehearsal and performance.

Highlights

Teachers keep coming back to I Can't Give You Anything but Love: SATB Choral Octavo, which appears in arrangements by both Jay Althouse and Dave Riley. Both versions include recorded accompaniments and instrumental parts, along with staging notes that help bring the piece to life in performance.

Arranger Spotlight

Jay Althouse holds degrees in music education and music from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and spent eight years working as a rights and licenses administrator for a major educational music publisher. He has composed more than 800 choral works across all difficulty levels, and his extensive catalog reflects deep knowledge of what works in rehearsal.

Dave Riley, based in Ithaca, New York, built his reputation as a vocal jazz specialist and educator whose work with the Ithaca College Vocal Jazz Ensemble earned international recognition. His compositions and arrangements have been featured at ACDA National and Regional conventions, and he regularly serves as a clinician, bringing practical performance experience to his writing.
