About This Collection

Description

This collection of 5,195 sacred choral titles spans spiritual traditions, seasonal celebrations, and works at all difficulty levels for choirs of any size. You'll find everything from beloved spirituals like Alice Parker's Hark, I Hear the Harps Eternal and Robert T. Gibson's Down by the Riverside to contemporary sacred works and holiday arrangements. The majority of titles are SATB and mixed voicing, with strong representation in SAB and 2-part options for younger or smaller ensembles. Many include recorded accompaniment tracks, making them practical for rehearsal and performance.

Highlights

Teachers return consistently to Alice Parker's Hark, I Hear the Harps Eternal, John Leavitt's Festival Sanctus, and Undine S. Moore's Daniel, Daniel, Servant of the Lord. Andy Beck's Betelehemu has become a staple in mixed-voicing choirs, while Greg Gilpin's Follow the Drinking Gourd continues to draw singers and audiences alike. These titles represent the kind of music that works reliably in rehearsal and performance across grade levels and choir sizes.

Recently added

Recent additions include Roxanna Panufnik's Glory be to the World and Judith Bingham's Epiphany for SATB Choir and Organ, both published in May 2026. Thomas A. Dorsey's Precious Lord, Take My Hand and Alexander Tcherepnin's Six Liturgical Chants, No. 5: Transfiguration round out the latest releases.

Composer & Author Spotlight

Jay Althouse has over 800 works in print and brings a music educator's sensibility to his compositions. With degrees in music education and curriculum design from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, he spent eight years working in music publishing before establishing himself as a composer who writes for choirs at every level. His accessibility and understanding of what rehearsal actually requires make his work a natural choice for busy directors.

Sally K. Albrecht is known especially for choral movement and has been an ASCAP award recipient since 1987. Over three decades as director of school choral programs, she conducted honor choirs at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and The Kennedy Center. Her ability to combine solid musicianship with engaging, teachable arrangements shows why Sing Alleluia, Clap Your Hands remains popular.

Andy Beck serves as Director of Choral Publications at Alfred Music and has written over 450 choral works and vocal resources in print. Beyond compositions, he's the author of method books like Sing at First Sight and Vocalize! 45 Vocal Warm-Ups That Teach Technique. His understanding of both composition and pedagogy gives his arrangements like Betelehemu an edge in the rehearsal room.

Greg Gilpin is an ASCAP award-winning composer and conductor who has led performances at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Sydney Opera House, and Royal Festival Hall. He brings the perspective of someone who conducts at the highest levels while remaining deeply connected to the choral music teachers and students who perform his work most often.
